Created under the guidance of Christopher Chong, Amouage Creative Director, the exuberant, white floral fragrance is an extension of the ‘Midnight Flower Collection’ that comprises of ‘Hope’, ‘Love’, ‘Happy’ and recently introduced ‘Smile’ candles and complementary room sprays.
The first Eau de Parfum in the ‘Midnight Flower Collection’ features youthful top notes of Almond, Blackcurrant Liqueur and Davana that open to an intense bouquet of Osmanthus, Jasmine, Vanilla and Magnolia in the heart. Notes boldly culminate in the magical, earthy base of Cade, Patchouli, Papyrus and Tobacco Blond.
Bright and joyful, the fragrance is presented in Amouage’s iconic glass crystal bottle in a brazen, iridescent sunshine hue. The refreshingly white cap is accented with a golden Swarovski crystal to resemble a shining overhead sun at high noon. The bottle is housed in a cool azure, mosaic box with gold foil illustrations of swirling flares in rhapsody around the Amouage insignia. “This is the final story in the first cycle of the Amouage narrative.
In Fate all the characters I have created from Jubilation to Honour will meet. They will meet their Svengali. Each character will share his and her secret with the Svengali who will set them free into the world in which their fates await them.
Fate for Woman is a chypre oriental with a rich floral heart intensified by a dark and destructive accord resonating the tumultuous unknown.
Fate for Man is a spicy and woody construction parodying the force and power of the inevitable.”

In the opening, the spicy accord sets the mysterious mood of the unexpected.
In the heart, we pay tribute to a rich floral with an intensity of frankincense and resin to resonate the beginning of the end.
In the base, frankincense is intensified with resin, oakmoss and leather charging with haunting mysticism of the unknown.

Fate Man
In the top notes, we create a sense of a beginning by combining fresh citrus with the green dimension of absinth reawakened by the tingling sharp ginger.
In the heart, we wanted to create the next level, which is the ending. We use key ingredients of rose and frankincense to express an ending - a finale.
In the base, the theme is the uncertainty of the future as represented in the name Fate. We build upon this woody accord of cedar wood and sandalwood by adding liquorice and Tonka bean, which increase the haunting intensity of uncertainty. Musk and woody resin resonate in the background quietly waiting for the unexpected.

Parfums Frapin latest creation marks a break from the brand's scent profile. Paradis Perdu celebrates Frapin estate's heritage with Art nouveau

1889… Time stood still in the temporary glass palaces of the Paris World Fair. The pavilions, showing their iron lacework undersides, celebrated booming industry and Art nouveau.
It is against this thrilling backdrop that Frapin cognacs were rewarded for their excellence. Pierre Frapin received the gold medal from Gustave Eiffel himself. History goes not tell us what was said between the man of the soil and the man of iron. The estate in Charente, however, bears witness to what was done. Mr Eiffel used his genius to create indestructible store houses for Mr Frapin.
The Perfume…
Created with the vitality of Art nouveau, Paradis Perdu is an ode to the vineyards around the property. The perfumer, Amélie Bourgeois, drew her inspiration from the expanses of land, conjuring effervescence with curved lines, somewhere between gushing and encircling.
A hint of sap is first to be noted, the new Eve in this Garden of Eden. It rises from the soil in a rustling of vetiver roots. Intertwined up the vine shoots, a sign of lasting freshness, the sap changes from crisp green to dark green. Basil, with its insolence as a new shoot, muddles the severe green of the large vine leaves. The bitter green of spinach leaves heralds the quirky elegance of this organic harmony.
As in Art nouveau, Amélie has distilled nature and guided it to abstraction. In line with this joyful art, she has skilfully played with exotic green notes, changing Paradisamide into Paradise.

The Chinese have prized it since Antiquity for its aphrodisiac virtues. Its smell was considered so heavenly by Islam it was blended into the mortar of some mosques so that they would exhale it in the sun. It was so penetrating that ships loaded with tea would refuse to carry it for fear it would impregnate their cargo… Tonkin musk, produced by a species of Himalayan deer, was one of the most precious ingredients of the perfumers’ palette: it suffused their blends with a sensual aura that fixed and magnified every other essence.
No longer used for ethical reasons, natural musk still haunts perfumers since it has never been perfectly replaced. It is to capture this fascinating ghost that Musc Tonkin reinvents it by blending the most opulent raw materials to conjure its myriad facets. Their names don’t matter: like the mysterious charisma of certain people who draw us into their wake, Musc Tonkin should be experienced rather than described.
Vibrant, facetted, surprising, at once nocturnal and solar, this aphrodisiac potion changes on each skin, the better to enhance it. A lick of salt for the taste of skin. A suave accord of Havana and oriental leather, refreshed by a splash of mojito. Speakeasy conjures the film noir allure of an age when danger lurked under the glamour. A Tropical bar where Hemingway could have bumped into the characters of To Have and Have Not.
